It was my pleasure to join the Exposure’s photography tour of the ‘Migration of the Eagle Hunters’ in Autumn, 2023. The tour started in Ulaanbaatar and our hotel’s location was perfect. Close to all the main sites, restaurants and nightlife. The hotel was clean and friendly with an excellent breakfast. We flew to Ulgii and started our drive to join the eagle hunters and their migration. The scenery was delightful and our Mongolian crew were superb. We had 3 vehicles to carry us, our tents, and our supplies. From our first lunch to our last breakfast we had the best cook one could find. Our crew put up tents for us or we slept in Gers. Even on cold nights I was warm and happy. Each day we started with breakfast, taking pictures as the eagle hunters milked their animals or prepared to leave. I felt part of the migration, talking with the family, helping out, and of course, taking pictures. The day was spent following the migration of the herd in the vehicles, jumping out for a 2 to 3 kilometer hike taking pictures of the trip. Loved every minute of it. Nights were at camp, being spoiled by our wonderful Mongolian crew and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Every day a photo shot was arranged of the eagle hunters or family. Lots of opportunities to get wonderful shots. Upon arriving back in Ulgii we stayed at an enjoyable hotel once again close to all the best attractions of the city. Every night in Uglii we had a photo shoot of different eagle hunters and an enjoyable dinner afterwards. If you are looking for a unique travel/photo opportunity I highly recommend the Autumn Expedition to see the Migration of the Eagle Hunters.Mongolia Photo Tour

Let me start with thanking Apratim Da for taking me to Mongolia.. Mongolia is nothing less than a wonderland.. In my small journey in Photography I guess this is the bigggest, hardest and most challenging trip of my life.. In fact this is the most successful trip also..I am sure the experience of staying in Ger with nomads during that cold will remain with me forever.. So does the experience of walking into snow blizzard during the migration.. God, whatta day it was..I guess it's very hard to arrange the logistics during that kind of winter.. And Apratim Da did his best.. Wish last time We could go to reindeer forest also, but I guess it has to wait for another time.. And man, I wish that opportunity comes as early as possible..In Summary, all I want to say, go visit Mongolia in winter.. its a wonderland...Winter Expedition Mongolia

Doing the Pushkar trip with Apratim was a delightful experience. His deep knowledge of the place, the subjects was, of course, extremely critical and made a big difference, but what I really liked was his total willingness to teach and share his vast and deep knowledge. I quite liked the fact that often, questions about composition etc would be answered from a first principles approach - the theory, the science, about the gear followed by how you should use that knowledge. Apart from that, even in the field, he would be constantly with you, suggesting how you could attempt a shot, correcting your approach when its needed...all in all, a trip, that was obviously enjoyable due to the place and the occasion, but much more so, due to this approach and keenness that you learn more about this fascinating craft.Pushkar Photo Tour

I attended the Astro landscape workshop at Singalila National Park in October 2022. The workshop was conducted by Rajat Malakar and Mrinmay Nayek.I came to know of this workshop though Mrinmay Nayek’s photos on Instagram and signed up for it. What went well: Right from the beginning, both Rajat and Mrinmay were extremely forthcoming in answering my questions about the workshop. They guided me about what sort of cameras and lenses and tripods would be helpful. Once the workshop started, they handled the coaching with a lot of professionalism. It started with Apratim Das, who is the head of Exposure, giving an overview of photography and gear. His knowledge on the subject is vast and amazing and it was a joy to see his passion for all things related to photography. This continued with the mentors giving us an overview of astro photography and then guiding us at every step of the tour. Right from the composition to camera settings to the processing of photos at the end, both mentors covered everything thoroughly and professionally. They are still conducting follow up classes and even give 1-1 sessions if required to help with post processing and doubts. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and have immense respect for the mentors – their knowledge, patience, and dedication. I saw some of the best views in the world and made some of the most beautiful memories and photos of my life. What could have been better: I was the only woman photographer in the group. I was treated with extreme respect and did not face too much difficulties. However, I would have preferred having better accommodation/more privacy in some of the places we stayed at.Will I do another workshop with Exposure if the chance arises: Yes!Singalila Astro-Landscape Workshop

Join this incredible expedition with Mr Apratim Saha and his amazing support team during the winter migration of the mighty Eagle Hunters of Mongolia. If you are after some memorable life experiences and outstanding photographs to cherish, then this is the one for you.I recently had the privilege of embarking on a photography tour led by the renowned Apratim Saha, a true mentor in the world of photography. Apratim's reputation as a master photographer precedes him, and I can affirm that it's well-deserved. His wealth of knowledge and keen artistic eye transformed this tour into an intensive photography workshop. At every step of the journey, he offered invaluable insights into composition, lighting, and the nuances of capturing Mongolia's unique beauty. Whether you were a novice or an experienced photographer, his mentorship elevated your skills to new heights. The tour's itinerary was a carefully curated masterpiece. We ventured deep into Mongolia's remote regions, ensuring that we met eagle hunters in their place so that we could shoot their natural activity. We were also graced with the opportunity to visit traditional nomadic communities, offering a rare glimpse into Mongolia's rich culture and its harmonious coexistence with nature.A successful photo tour hinges on seamless logistics, and this tour exceeded my expectations. Accommodations, transportation, and meals were thoughtfully arranged, ensuring that our focus remained solely on photography. The traditional Mongolian gers were not only authentic but also surprisingly comfortable, allowing us to rest and recharge for the next day's adventures. What truly sets this tour apart is Apratim's personal touch. He invested not only in our photography but in our overall experience. He shared anecdotes, engaged in discussions, and fostered a sense of camaraderie among the group. It was apparent that his passion for photography was infectious and that his genuine love for Mongolia inspired us all.In conclusion, Exposure’s photo tour to Mongolia with Apratim Saha was an awe-inspiring journey that I will cherish forever. It was an exquisite blend of artistic exploration, cultural immersion, and the sheer joy of photography. If you're an aspiring or seasoned photographer looking for an experience that will transform your skills and leave you with unforgettable memories, I wholeheartedly recommend joining Apratim on his next Mongolia photography tour. My first photography tour with Apratim Saha's EXPOSURE was a one-of-its-kind experience. I travelled with Apratim to Nepal to cover the timeless Bisket Jatra Festival for over 6 days. Apart from the excellent stay with great food, I felt that not a single moment was lost - he ensured that I make the most of it. Apratim guided me through each and every ritual, explaining the significance and key elements to capture. Apart from being a talented photographer himself, his in-depth knowledge of the place, the people and the festival added to my soaking in the essence and visuals of the festival. In the midst of an extremely energetic and chaotic crowd, Apratim ensured that I could shoot safely.I wish EXPOSURE and Apratim the very best for the future. Whether you are a photographer or an intrepid traveller, you will feel fulfilled on a tour with EXPOSURE.Bisket Jatra Photo Tour, Nepal.
