A doctorate in Geology and (ex)miner by profession, Hirak, has worked for more than 16 years both in India and overseas. After leaving his regular mining job Hirak completed PG Diploma in professional photography from Light and Life Academy, Ooty, India. Since 2020, he started selling prints and sold annual calendars to a few corporate teams from India. And, since he moved to Perth, he is now a full-time event and portrait photographer. The famous Fortuna Advisory group is one of his regular clients.

Currently, he is working with Wink Media House as an event photographer as well as he is teaching the basics of photography in the Indian community to belong to the Federation of Indian Association of Western Australia (FIAWA) with a guideline set by the Ministry of Education, Australia.

His works have been exhibited in many international exhibitions in Iceland, Germany, Serbia, China, Australia, Kenya, Guatemala, Montenegro and a few other countries.

Hirak’s works have been published in the form of articles and photo series in several online portals as well as print magazines like the cover story of Smart Photography Magazine, Artells Magazine, Inspired Eye Magazine, Landscape Photography Magazine, F-Stop Magazine, Amateur Astrophotography Magazine, Pixel Annual Magazine (2020 as well as 2021), Indian Photo Arts Magazine, Asian Photography Magazine, Discover India Magazine and so on.

He has also won several awards in his photography career and featured as a finalist in the prestigious Nature’s Best Photography Asia competition (2020 and 2021). In 2022, he got Bronze Medal in the Budapest International foto awards (BIFA 2022) in the People and culture category. In 2022, he got HM as Indian Photographer of the year 2022 in the Landscape category.
