Tour Itinerary

Allahabad & Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival to Varanasi and transfer to the hotel.

Once everyone has checked in, we meet before dinner for a round of introductions and orientation. Your mentors will also brief the group on the entire schedule, what to expect over the 8 days to come, how to shoot for some particular situations and general do’s and dont’s.

Day 2-5: Allahabad Kumbh Mela

We set off early in the morning for Allahabad to delve deep into the spectacular Kumbh Mela festivities. Lodged in luxury tents smack dab in the middle of it all, you’ll be experiencing Kumbh Mela so intimately that you’ll feel the emotion seeping through your pores.

Over the next three and a half days you’ll be shooting different rituals along the Ganges river, documenting Sadhus taking their Royal Baths, learning and improving on your portrait skills with the help of some of the most spectacular subjects you’ll ever meet as well as learn how to tell stories through photography using composition, colour, patience and your very own creativity.

Day 5-9: Varanasi

When you imagine India, you imagine Varanasi. It’s colours, winding streets, bustling river banks, bathers, sellers, mourners and celebrators of life all come together and this unique and magical city known as the city of light.

During the 3 and a half days here you’ll get to explore and capture every nook and cranny with the help of the Mentors and a very special guest also known as the ‘living history of Varanasi’.

Temples visits, early morning rituals, boat rides and a lot of street photography will be taking place here whilst you continue to develop your storytelling skills.

Day 10: Home

Transfer to Varanasi airport and end of the adventure. Hopefully this will not be good-bye but rather, until next time!
